Operation Form and Sound is a series of 50 posters that were produced over three months. The project was initially inspired by Michael Bierut’s “100-Day Graphic Design Workshop” taught at Yale School of Art. The basic frame of his workshop is to choose a design operation and repeat it everyday for 100 days. Through the series of posters, I explored how music can influence form making and use of visual language. I listened to music before and while designing each poster. By doing this operation, I could visually see the effects music subconsciously has on my visual decisions such as typography, colour, composition and overall aesthetic.
